Here is a recipe of Ashwagandha Milk and how to consume ashwagandha powder with milk. Along with this, we see incredible ashwagandha benefits.
Ashwagandha is one of the ayurvedic ancient medicinal herb used for more than 2500 years. First of all, it is an apoptogenic herb that’s popular in Ayurvedic medicine. “Ashwagandha” in Sanskrit means “smell of the horse,” which refers to both its unique smell and ability to increase strength.
Its botanical name is Withania somnifera. The ashwagandha plant is a small shrub with yellow flowers that’s native to India and North Africa. Extracts or powder from the plant’s root or leaves are used to treat a variety of conditions. In Ayurvedic medicine, ashwagandha is considered a “Rasayana”. That means it’s an herb that helps maintain youth, both mentally and physically. Also, ashwagandha used to treat many health conditions like Arthritis, heart health, Alzheimer’s treatment, cancer and Thyroid.
Hence it’s valued for below properties,
Ashwagandha is known as ” Indian ginseng” or “winter cherry” in India. This is due to its ability to enhance your stamina and also works as a natural stress reliever. Furthermore, it is referred as “strength of stallion”. Because it is traditionally used to strengthen the immune system after illness. Therefore the root and leaves of the plant are most commonly used for it’s medicinal properties.
Usually ashwagandha is available is root as well as powdered(churna) form. Here I have used the powdered form. Furthermore ashwagandha is very difficult to consume in raw form. Because it is very bitter in taste. So to avoid this bitterness, take this churna with milk and sweeteners. Here I am sharing Ashwagandha Ksheera/ Ashwagandha Milk recipe.
Ashwagandha milk is a healthy drink with many healthy benefits. It is a good sleep tonic and popular as a anxiety reliever. The making of this recipe is simple and even tasty. At least we can consume ashwagandha powder in this milk form , rather than taking in raw form, and it is difficult to take in raw form because of the unpleasant smell of ashwagandha. Most importantly, the best time to drink this medicated milk is at bed time.
Ashwagandha is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth short-term. The long-term safety of ashwagandha is unknown. Large doses of ashwagandha may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, and vomiting.
