Majjige Huli is a simple, tasty and popular dish of Karnataka. ‘Majjige huli’ means ‘butter milk sambar’. Basically it is a yogurt based recipe. This recipe is prepared with highly nutritious pranic food ash gourd / Boodu gumbala kayi. Most important thing is, this is one such recipe that is made often during festivals, especially in malnad regions of Karnataka.
Further, it is a side dish goes well with hot steamed rice. It is easy to make and tastes delicious. Moreover it can also be made with other vegetables like yam, yellow cucumber, beans, tindora etc. Here I have prepared majjige huli in malnad style.
