Drumsticks (Moringa oleifera), similarly also known as horseradish tree, ben tree, or drumstick tree, is a small tree from India, Pakistan, and Nepal that has been used for generations in Eastern countries to treat and prevent diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, anemia, arthritis, liver disease, and respiratory, skin, and digestive disorders.
First of all, this nutritious moringa chutney is a simple, quick and healthy recipe made from drumstick/moringa leaves. They are the power house of nutrition. Easy to make and tastes delicious.
Further, this chutney is served as a side dish flatbreads like chapati, roti, dosa. And also good with steamed rice and ghee. Even you can spread this chutney over toast, as a dip for salads and snacks. It is vegan & One of the healthy variations to diary based dips.

Ingredients
For Chutney
- 1 tsp Oil
- Green Chilli as per spicy level
- ½ cup Moringa (Drum Stick) Leaves washed
- ½ cup Grated Coconut
- 1 tbsp Tamarind
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Jaggery
For Temering
- 1 tsp Oil
- ½ tsp Mustard
- ½ tsp Cumin
- ½ tsp Urad Dal
- ½ tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
- 3 to 5 Curry Leaves
Instructions
Prepare Chutney
- In a heating pan, add Oil
- Once Oil is heated, add Green Chilli as per spicy level
- Add cleanly washed Moringa Leaves
- Saute well for 2 to 3 mins as the leaves reduced to half in quantity. Do not over cook.
- Transfer this mixture to a blender
- Add Grated Coconut, small ball size Tamarind, Salt, Jaggery
- Add little water and blend to a fine paste
Prepare Tempering
- In a small heated pan, add Oil
- Once Oil is heated, add Mustard, Cumin, Urad Dal, Hing and Curry Leaves
- Saute well till splutters
- Finally add the tempering to the blended chutney
- Enjoy healthy chutney with chapathi, rotti, dosa or along with steamed rice and ghee

Instructions
Prepare Chutney

Once Oil is heated, add Green Chilli as per spicy level

Add cleanly washed Moringa Leaves

Saute well for 2 to 3 mins as the leaves reduced to half in quantity. Do not over cook.

Add Grated Coconut, small ball size Tamarind, Salt, Jaggery

Add little water and blend to a fine paste
