Basically roti is a classic Indian flatbread, served with most of the vegetarian & non vegetarian meal. In most of the Indian households, roti is a common & must recipe. But the type of roti is differ from region to region. Among those oats roti is one such healthy & nutritious recipe for weight loss.

Most importantly, this is 100% pure oats roti and it is not mixed with any other flour like wheat, jowar etc. These oats roti’s are highly beneficial for people who have health issues like thyroid, PCOS, diabetes & heart disease. Because they are low in calories and gluten-free.

How to make Oats roti?

The making of this diabetic friendly & heart healthy oats roti is so simple. Only the thing is, you have to mix oat flour with hot water  to make a smooth & non sticky dough. Once the dough is prepared, rest this for 5 mins and then rolled out into a thin roti. Since oats are gluten free, so it is bit difficult to make a perfect shape. So to get a perfect shape roti, just press a lid or any round sharp edge container over the rolled roti & remove the extra dough. Then roast on both sides and if you wish apply a little oil or ghee over the roti.

More over these oats roti’s are too tastier than usual wheat chapati. Also these are more healthy, nutritious and fiber rich roti ideal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Even more oats roti goes well with any kind of side dish like curry, sambar, dal or even with sabzi and chutney.

Oats roti is a healthy, nutritious & gluten free recipe. It is a best recipe for weight loss. Easy to make and tastes too good. Most importantly it is a diabetic friendly breakfast recipe. Further oats are good source of fiber and heart healthy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup oats quick oats
  • 1 cup hot water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1 tsp oil

Instructions

  • Firstly, take a blender jar and add 2 cups of oats.
  • Blend this to a fine powder.
  • Take a wide bowl & transfer this blended oats powder.
  • Add salt and crumble the mixture.
  • Further add hot water little at a time and carefully mix well to form a dough.
  • Again add 1 tsp of ghee and knead well to form a smooth dough.
  • Rest this dough for 5 to 10 mins.
  • Next make a small lemon size ball and dust some oats flour over the roti maker.
  • Place the oats dough and roll out to a thin roti as possible.
  • Now place a lid over the rolled roti to make a perfect shape and remove the extra dough. This is because, oats are gluten free and it is difficult to get a perfect shape.
  • In the similar way roll it other rotis.
  • Then place a rolled roti over the hot cast iron tawa.
  • Once the bubbles starts to appear, then flip over the roti and smear little oil/ghee both sides..
  • Gently press it and flip over 3 to 4 times until roti is cooked well.
  • Take out to a plate and turnoff the heat.
  • Now the diabetic & heart healthy oats roti is ready to serve!
  • Enjoy this gluten free, healthy roti with lip smacking tomato chutney.
