Here is a delicious and healthy khajur ki barfi or khajoor roll or Date and dry fruit roll with the goodness of natural sweetener date with nutritious dry fruits.
Date nuts roll is a very healthy dessert recipe. It is made from highly nutritious date and dry fruits. Here I have used pitted dates here. These are the soft variety of dates. Also dates are loaded with nutrients. These date rolls are easy to make and tastes amazing.
Most importantly it is no added sugar sweet. Because dates are the natural sweetener. Hence it is diabetic friendly sweet recipe. And also good for kids too. Because these are loaded with healthy nutrients, which are required for growing kids.
Furthermore this is popularly known as “Khajoor katri/Khajur roll” in North India and “Kharjura Burfi” in South India. Also It is “no-bake” dessert. It is soft, chewy roll with crunchy nuts. Here I have used almonds, cashews and pistachios. You can also add walnuts, pecans, melon seeds etc. Like your choices of nuts.
Even more I have used roasted poppy seeds (khus khus) for coating this roll along with some chopped pistachios. So it looks more colorful from outside also. More over it look like a fudge rather than cookies. Instead of poppy seeds you can also use desiccated coconut or white sesame seeds for coating this roll.
Certainly you have to make this as a ladoo shape, rather making it as roll and cut it. Therefore is an easy sweet recipe for festive seasons like Deepavali, or whenever you have a craving for sweets. It hardly takes 30 mins to prepare the recipe and further 1.5 hrs for setting properly.
