Coriander leaves tambuli is basically a curd based curry with leaves of coriander, grated coconut, cumin, black pepper. A simple recipe with enormous health benefits. It cools our body. More over it is an ideal recipe for summer season.

Tambli or tambuli is a type of raita, a healthy recipe of Karnataka can be served with hot rice.  Most importantly, the word tambuli is derived from Kannada word which means “tampada huli”.

Further this tambuli is a very healthy recipe. Because we have prepared this, using raw ingredients. So it is a perfect side dish with hot rice. Also you can drink it like a soup. This is easy to make and even tasty.

Even more, when you don’t have enough time to cook, this tambuli is one such option.  Also you can make this recipe in 5 to 10 minutes. Therefore it is a good, healthy recipe during summer season. As it cools our body. Here is the simple coriander leaves or cilantro tambuli with step by step instructions with video.

Leaves of coriander are the wonderful source of dietary fiber, iron, magnesium and manganese as well. It’s rich in vitamin C, vitamin K and protein. Also contains calcium, potassium, thiamin, niacin, phosphorous and carotene.

Tambuli is a type of raita, a healthy recipe of karnataka. Tambuli, being a curd based cuisine, is consumed with hot rice along with hot samabar usually. Here is the coriander leaves tambuli along with it's benefits.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 2 to 4 black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter milk or curd
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For tempering:

  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp hing or asafoetida
  • 2 to 4 curry leaves

Instructions

Method:

  • Add chopped coriander leaves to a blender
  • Now add grated coconut
  • Add cumin
  • Add black pepper
  • Add little water and blend it to a fine paste and transfer this paste to a bowl
  • Now add butter milk or curd and salt
  • mix well, keep it aside and prepare tempering 

Method for tempering:

  • Add coconut oil to a tempering pan and heat for 2 mins
  • Now add mustard, cumin, hing and curry leaves
  • saute well until it splutters
  • Add this tempering to prepared coriander tambuli 
  • mix well and eat with hot rice
