How to cook Radish greens? Are radish greens are edibles to eat? Here is a Radish greens recipe, that is Radish poriyal and Radish benefits.
Radish Greens stir fry or radish leaves poriyal is a high profile nutritious recipe. Basically this recipe is made from radish greens/leaves, along with protein rich cooked lentils. These radish greens has host of miraculous health benefits. Radish leaves are called as “mooli ke patte” in Hindi and “moolangi soppu” in Kannada.
Further the radish green are loaded with essential nutrients. They are rich in fiber, iron, calcium and vitamin C. Also a good source of folic acid and phosphorous. Most important thing is, these leaves are used as a medicine for treating ‘Jaundice, piles and rheumatism’.
Normally we discard the radish leaves and use only radish for making sambar and curry. But the radish greens are most healthy and edible to eat than the radish itself. Firstly, wash the radish leaves properly before making poriyal and chop it finely. Add this chopped radish greens/ radish leaves in the tadka and sauteed for a minute. Add any protein rich cooked lentil to poriyal to make it more nutritious. You can add cooked beans, lentils, moong sprouts, anything of your choice, Here I have used cooked toor dal with radish greens. It gives amazing taste. Radish leaves poriyal goes well with roti, chapathi and as a side dish with hot rice.
