Barley Avocado Roti/Paratha is a healthy recipe, made from two highly nutritious super foods Barley (Jau) and Avocado (Butter Fruit). This is a best & most healthiest roti for lunch or dinner with all the essential nutrients. Barley is the "King of Cereals " for all the right reasons with incredible health benefits. Further Avocados are high in good fat (monounsaturated fat) that helps lower cholesterol and keeps heart healthy.

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds/Ajwain
  • 2 cups barley flour orgainic
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  • Firstly, take out the outer layer (skin) and seed of avocado and add this to a wide bowl
  • Mash avocado using a masher or spoon
  • Next add finely chopped coriander leaves & salt
  • Further add garam masala, red chilli powder and ajwain
  • Now add barley flour and mix all the ingredients well
  • Next add hot water little at a time and knead the mixture well to form a soft dough
  • Additionally add little oil and again knead the dough for few more minutes
  • Once done, rest the dough for 10 to 15 mins
  • After resting, make small balls from the dough
  • Also dust the roti maker with some flour and then place prepared dough on a roti maker
  • Dust dough with flour both sides and roll out into rotis or parathas
  • Fix the edges of rotis while rolling them. Beacuse there might be chances of breaking rotis
  • Once done with rolling roti, place it on an hot iron tawa and roast both sides
  • Smear little oil or ghee over roti and cook well
  • Next take out to a plate
  • Now most nutritious Barley Avocado Roti is ready to serve!
