Ingredients

  • 2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrot grated
  • 1/2 cup coconut grated
  • 1/2 cup Nugge soppu/Moringa leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cumin

Instructions

How to make nugge soppina rotti/moringa leaves flat bread:

  • Firstly, in a mixing bowl add 2 cup of rice flour and finely chopped onion.
  • Next add grated carrot and coconut. Also add washed and chopped moringa leaves.
  • Similarly add salt and cumin seeds.
  • Crumble the mixture well.
  • Add little warm water at a time and mix everything well to make a soft dough. The dough should be almost like the consistence of chakkuli dough.
  • Heat the tawa or griddle and keep it in sim. Drizzle oil on tawa and spread evenly by your palm or banana leaf.
  • Now take a dough like size of small orange and pat it evenly by your palm to make a thin circular rotti. If it is sticky while making rotti, dip your palm in water or apply some oil.
  • Now make a hole at the center and around and add little oil on the holes and at the edges.
  • Cover the lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Then remove the lid and check the bottom. It must have been golden brown.
  • Also flip on the other side and cook for 3 to 4 mins. Transfer this to a plate and turn off the heat.
  • Now the healthy, nutritious nugge soppina rotti is ready to serve.
  •  This goes well with curd, ghee, pickle or chutney. Enjoy this rotti with any of the sides of your choice.
