It is a nutritious drumstick leaves recipe of South India. Drumstick leaves called by many names from region to region. In Kannada it is called “nugge soppu”, which is a superfood nowadays. Most importantly, including moringa leaves in our daily diet plays a major role in our health, and if we consume drumstick leaves in this form, we get all the essential nutrients required for a body.

Because it is quiet filling and feels like full meal. You can make this rotti by adding rice flour or ragi flour. But here I have used only rice flour. Moreover this recipe is gluten free and vegan too.

Ingredients
- 2 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup carrot grated
- 1/2 cup coconut grated
- 1/2 cup Nugge soppu/Moringa leaves chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin
Instructions
How to make nugge soppina rotti/moringa leaves flat bread:
- Firstly, in a mixing bowl add 2 cup of rice flour and finely chopped onion.
- Next add grated carrot and coconut. Also add washed and chopped moringa leaves.
- Similarly add salt and cumin seeds.
- Crumble the mixture well.
- Add little warm water at a time and mix everything well to make a soft dough. The dough should be almost like the consistence of chakkuli dough.
- Heat the tawa or griddle and keep it in sim. Drizzle oil on tawa and spread evenly by your palm or banana leaf.
- Now take a dough like size of small orange and pat it evenly by your palm to make a thin circular rotti. If it is sticky while making rotti, dip your palm in water or apply some oil.
- Now make a hole at the center and around and add little oil on the holes and at the edges.
- Cover the lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Then remove the lid and check the bottom. It must have been golden brown.
- Also flip on the other side and cook for 3 to 4 mins. Transfer this to a plate and turn off the heat.
- Now the healthy, nutritious nugge soppina rotti is ready to serve.
- This goes well with curd, ghee, pickle or chutney. Enjoy this rotti with any of the sides of your choice.
